Santa’s Gone to the Dogs . . . and cats . . .

The proof is in the pudding, so they say . . .

A couple of weeks ago I blogged that I would be doing my annual volunteer good deed, and had offered up my Santa self to the local vet in the small town I reside in . . . you can see by some of the photos below that I indeed went to the dogs, and a couple of cats as well.

Here are a couple of collages to cheer you up.

By the way, most of my lap sitters asked for the same Christmas gift . . . bones!

Scoop1942 aka Santa? You guessed right!

Every year at Christmastime or during the holidays in December, I like to do at least one good deed. This is not to say that I don’t do good deeds all year long . . .

But, during this festive and often times stressful period in our lives, I truly believe we all should extend ourselves just a little and do something that may even be out of the ordinary for us.

Who doesn’t want to be Santa? Well, most folks, including me, until about 10 years ago when our office Christmas get together was lacking one Santa Claus, so after an exhaustive search throughout the offce, where everyone was asked if they would please “play Santa Claus” at the Christmas luncheon, it came down to me. I’ve always been a good sport and thought, “well, why not? I’ll put on the red suit, do a few ho ho ho’s and there you have it. No one will will ever know I’m not the jolly ol’ elf . . . hmmm maybe that should be jolly ol’ elfette?”

So, there you have it. I was transformed into the man in the red suit and have gone caroling with Brownies at nursing homes, donned the red hat with the white fuzzy ball and handed out Christmas presents galore, hugged little ones, and so on.

Well my good friends, this year is going to be a hoot as ol’ Santa is going to the dogs. Literally! My good deed this year is at our local vet’s office where fido and kitty kat will sit on my lap and meow and bark and probably growl their goodie request for a Santa and Pet photo op . . .
